Neema Crafts sells online and at craft fairs a range of gifts and homeware made by people with disabilities in Tanzania. Neema Crafts in Tanzania has gone from employing just two people 10 years ago to now having over a 100 staff and to supporting them through providing mobility aides, physiotherapy and more recently our house building programme. Our aim is to challenge the negative stereotype of disability held in East Africa. We train and employ weavers, tailors, carpenters and ceramicists. We use a range of locally sourced sustainable materials to make our products which reflect our east african heritage with a fresh modern take. We make screen printed cushions (including our popular animal cushion range) and wash bags, woven throws and scarves, notebooks, children's gifts, traditionally hand carved chopping boards, tea-lights, and coasters. Our online store opened in November 2015 and now we are feeling more established we are looking to explore the possibility of supplying wholesale to shops who share our ethos and fair trade values.
