Papital Gallery is Iran‘s first certified Fairtrade producer of handmade jewelry and accessories. We help empower economically disadvantaged artisans, especially women, by providing safe, well-paid, and sustainable work opportunities.

Re-Imagine Tiles

Our ceramic jewelry collection, Re-Imagine Tiles celebrates the ancient art of decorative tilemaking. This tradition is deeply rooted in Islamic architecture across the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and Southern Europe.
We craft our pieces from the same clay, shapes, and authentic patterns found in centuries-old monuments. Our raw ceramic jewelry feels warm and natural, unlike conventional metal and stone jewelry.

What does Papital mean?

Our name, Papital, comes from the Farsi word [پاپیتال] for evergreen ivy. As a living architectural element, it symbolizes resilience and our ambition to overcome any obstacle.

Our Story

Founded in 2016 by four friends, Papital Gallery began as a passion project. We sold our jewelry at craft markets and on Instagram. By mid-2017, we reached full capacity and partnered with NGOs committed to empowering women and fighting child labor, by economically empowering their mothers.
In 2018, our collection was discovered internationally. Our breakthrough came with our partnership with CONTIGO Fairtrade stores in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Soon after, we partnered with altraQualità in Italy.

Our Mission

Today, Papital Gallery is a team of 20 with dedicated sales representatives in Germany, Canada, and the UK. We aim to:

• Become a cultural ambassador for the timeless art of decorative mosaic tiles.
• Promote Fairtrade in the handicraft sector in Iran and globally.
• Fight child labor, discrimination, and exploitation in our industry.
