Sam tells BAFTS that when working ‘together fantastic things can be achieved!
Let’s find out about Namaste:
Hi, I’m Sam Brummit, the founder of Namaste. The business is owned by myself and my wife, Rachel. I launched the business in 1997 after a transformative round-the-world journey inspired me to create a business that could make a difference.
What’s the WHY behind being Namaste?
It all started in 1995 when, driven by a thirst for adventure, I flew to Kathmandu with a round-the-world ticket in hand. After an unforgettable trek to Everest Base Camp and six months spent exploring the Indian Subcontinent on a reconditioned ex-Indian Army Enfield Bullet motorbike, the idea for my business began to take shape. A life-changing conversation with Ganpat, a textile business owner and now a lifelong friend, in Rajasthan sparked the vision to return home and build something meaningful.

Inspired to give back to such a beautiful part of the world, I founded Namaste in 1997, a name that means “I greet the spirit within you.”
What’s the best thing about running Namaste?
The best thing about Namaste is all the fascinating travels, making new friends in various countries, and constantly learning new skills while tackling fresh challenges. Additionally, building a community and supporting others has been incredibly rewarding while uplifting the very places that make our products possible!
What is the message you want to send out into the world?

Fantastic things can be achieved through working together. Be patient and above all, always be kind.
What’s the best thing about the BAFTS community?
BAFTS has always been an open, friendly and supportive community with a healthy and wide range of views but an important core mission.
